XMAS’s first furniture collection was shown during the 2022 DesignPhiladelphia festival at Cherry Street Pier.

A series of four prototypes are shown that were developed concurrently with the XMAS geometric logo as an exercize in generalist design.

The primary design is a low lounge chair that is reversible — like a “Members Only” jacket — by folding down the seat back, flipping the whole chair over and folding up a second, different seat back (see Instagram for a demo video.) Future models will explore arranging differently colored pieces and collaging patterns from the laminate.

There’s also a small, multi-function stool that stacks; a skewered double wicker shade floor lamp; and a cement Brutalist birdhouse. The color block carpet was also develpoped for this exhibit from discontinued carpet tiles and samples.
